About the Seven Cities Blues Society
The Seven Cities Blues Society (SCBS) was born October 31, 2024 st the end of the outdoor blues jam season. Founding members Carl Bonner, Paul Urban, Renee Owens and Deborah Foley, enjoyed the sights and sounds of the blues jams the Hampton Roads area had to offer, but they continually asked – “Why doesn’t this town have a blues festival?”
Hampton Roads residents love music and they love a good time – it just made sense.
But how to get started? The trio put an announcement in the Facebook and soon a meeting was held. The first society meeting took place January 7th d, 2025 at the Pretlow Library in Norfolk, VA. Since that first meeting, interest has multiplied. SCBS has nearly 120 paid members and several other people who volunteer for the society.
